MANICURING AND SCULPTURED NAILS

19 WEEK PROGRAM


OBJECTIVE:

This program is designed to prepare the student for the State Board Examination upon successful completion of 600 clock hours. Students will learn the art of manicuring, hand and arm massage, the treatment of nails, and artificial nails. Upon receiving a professional license, the student will possess the skills and knowledge to be employed in entry-level manicuring and sculptured nail positions.


Manicuring student hours 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday-Friday & 8:15 am to 3 pm on Saturday



ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Proof of completion of the 10th grade, High School Diploma or GED

Minimum age of 16 (must be 17 years of age before completion of the program)



COURSE OUTLINE:


This program is 600 clock hours.


Manicuring, hand/arm massage, treatment of nails 220 hours

Salesmanship and shop management 20 hours

Sanitation and sterilization 50 hours

Anatomy 20 hours

State law 10 hours

Study of the use and application of certain chemicals 140 hours

Miscellaneous lab, lecture, and review 140 hours

Total of 600 hours
