COSMETOLOGY INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

19 WEEK PROGRAM


OBJECTIVE:

This program is designed to prepare the student for the State Board Examination upon successful completion of 600 hours. Students will learn theory and practical training to include basic principles of student teaching, psychology, evaluation, counseling, record keeping, state law, etc. Upon receiving professional license, the student will possess the skills and knowledge to be employed as an entry-level instructor.

Cosmetology Instructor Training student hours 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday-Friday & 8:15 am to 3 pm on Saturday


ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Proof of completion of the 10th grade, High School Diploma or GED

Minimum age of 16 (must be 17 years of age before completion of the program)

Licensed as a Cosmetologist




COURSE OUTLINE:
This program is 600 clock hours.

Basic principles of student teaching 200 hours

Psychology as applied to cosmetology 50 hours

Business experience or management 50 hours

Practice teaching in theory & practical application 300 hours
